How To Make Money With Calisthenics (Step By Step Guide)

After I wake up the first thing I did was to turn on my laptop and then I saw it:

Another $7.07 was added to my monthly payment balance.

It really felt wonderful.

And this small transaction happened during my sleep. I managed to do it again.

I have again made some money while I was sleeping.

Sounds cool right?

And this was repeating again and again for a couple of months now.

Sure I’m currently not going to earn thousands of dollars and buy a private jet, a couple of Lamborghinis or a huge villa in the Alps but the side cash I’m currently making is 100% passive.

Meaning I could be ill or lay in my bed all day long and I would still earn a couple of bucks here and there.

Yes, there are still days I earn $0 but there are days in which I earn about $10-$15 without doing anything and this is just the beginning.

I personally know people that make 10-20X more than me by doing the exact same thing I’m going to teach you in this post.

So can you do it? Absolutely.

Can you make thousands of dollars of passive income? Yes, you can.

Is it easy or fast? Hell no!

It took me over 4 months of hard work and sweat until I managed to earn my first $1.50 and a couple more months to reach this point.

Here’s exactly how I did it…

Hi there, my name is Bozhidar and in this article, I will teach you exactly what to do in order to make money with calisthenics like I’m currently doing.

If you read this post till the end you will learn how I did it and how you can do the same thing and in only a couple of months have some cash flowing down your bank account.

Are you ready to learn how to make some money?

Great! Let’s start…

How To Make Money With Calisthenics (The Ultimate Guide)

I’m pretty aware that there are many different ways you can earn some cash by showing your bodyweight skills and knowledge but there’s nothing better than using the internet.

That’s exactly what I’m currently doing in order to connect with all types of likeminded people from all over the world, help them in some way and earn some bucks during the way.

Here’s exactly how I do it…

How I Make Money With Calisthenics

By the moment I’m writing this my biggest source of side income is my blog – Fittylife on which you are currently reading this post.

Because I’ve put in months of hard work before now I can reap the reward which is passive income.

But please don’t get me wrong.

Doing what I’m currently doing isn’t fast, easy or free but it could potentially earn you a decent size of cash flow every month.

Do you see how I’ve used the word potentially instead of will?

That’s because I’ll be 100% honest with you – creating an online income from bodyweight training is not guaranteed

I can’t predict if you will be able to do it or not because this is still an online business.

And all businesses no matter if they are online or not have a high risk of failure so remember and accept that.

No matter what you try there is a pretty big chance of failure but trust me, once you see the numbers coming in your bank account you will quickly forget all the failures you had to endure.

But don’t lose hope.

I’m ready!

If you follow everything I will share with you next you are going to have a way bigger chance of making money with calisthenics than 99% of all the other people who want to do the exact same thing.

But before I jump to the how-to part of this post let’s see what is possible when you are not afraid of hard work and failure…

How much money you can make by running a calisthenics blog?

By the time I’m writing this my blog is around 8 months old and is currently earning somewhere around $50-$100 per month and with my estimation, I could easily reach $300-$500 in the next couple of months.

Here are some of my earnings for the past 2 weeks:

As you can see I’m far away from becoming a millionaire at this stage but that’s how actual money is made.

What I’m showing you above are my actual results and earnings.

Not like all these scammers telling you how you can do $100 per day with 1 hour of work in the next 2 months and silly, unrealistic stuff like that.

Yes, I know that my income is nothing special but don’t forget that this is 100% passive and even if I leave this site for 3 months I’m 100% sure that the money will keep coming and will even possibly even grow.

That’s the power of owning a blog with a lot of useful information on it.

But in order to help you understand what’s really possible, I will share with you a screenshot of a friend of mine’s earning who is doing the same exact thing but in another niche.

As you can see he makes a lot more money than me but he has a ton more experience and his site is much older than mine.

The goal here isn’t to brag about how awesome he is but to show you what is possible once you’ve put in enough hard work and sweat.

With that being said let’s continue with the main attraction – the main step-by-step guide of how you can do the exact same thing as me and make money online with calisthenics.

Here we go…

How To Make Money With Calisthenics Blog (Step By Step Tutorial)

To make things easier for you I’ve divided the whole process in 8 easy steps you can follow.

I highly recommend you not to skip any steps and read the entire thing because everything is connected to each other.

I will try to provide you with as much information as possible but because I don’t want this post to become 10000+ words I will tell only the important basics. If you have other questions feel free to use Youtube or Google to find everything you are looking for.

Important thing you need to know:

Before I start I want to tell you upfront that every business cost money and you will have to invest some cash for your website.

You will need about $40 – $50 bucks for the domain name and hosting for 1 year and $50 for a solid WordPress theme (the theme is optional but highly recommended).

With that being said let’s start with the guide.

Step 1: Pick A Domain Name For Your Blog

Every website has a domain name.

If your domain name is great and easily recognizable you are going to be one step ahead of the competition.

But let’s start with the basics.

What is a domain name?

The domain name is the name of a specific site.

For example, my domain name is fittylife.com,

youtube’s domain name is youtube.com

and google’s domain name is google.com

But more specifically the combination of words you see in front of the .com or .net is what we must figure out:

This is how people are going to see it and type on their devices when they want to go to your website.

That’s why it’s really important for your website’s name to be something short, simple and easy to remember.

Let’s see one of my favorite strategies of coming up with great names…

How to come up with a nice domain name?

The simplest way you can do that is to combine 2 words.

Optionally the first word should be some type of positive adjective and the second part should be something related to what’s your site is about.

For example, my website Fittylife is a combination of the 2 words:

Fitty (adjective) Life (the word describing my site)

Another example I’ve just come up with: Barambition

bar (the word describing what’s is this site about) ambition (the adjective)

So a good domain name is made by adjective + word describing your niche

Here are some other names I’ve just come up with:

  • barfreaks
  • bodyweightgods
  • pushupking
  • musclemaster
  • thebarlife
  • stongergrip
  • etc.

Take a piece of paper and a pen (or use the note app on your smartphone) and come up with 10 different domain names you like.

woman writing down on a notebook her progress

Once you are ready continue further.

I have come up with the domain names, now what?

After you have created the list of possible domain names you like the next thing is to check if they are available.

Sadly most of them will be taken but there are still some good ones you can find.

In order to check which domain is free click this link to go to this website called Namecheap and enter your first domain name.

Make sure to add .com at the end!

For example, let’s see if barfreaks.com is going to be available:

Click the search icon to see.

Sadly it’s already taken and I don’t want to pay over $2500 for it so I will continue with the next one.

Repeat all those steps until you find something you like that is available.

Once that happens simply add it to the cart and buy it from the same site you are searching on (Namecheap).

This is the place where I have bought all my domain names and currently, this is the cheapest optionyou can find.

It’s roughly around $9 per domain for 1 year

Once you have found a domain you wish to buy simply click the Add to Cart button located on the right side:

Next, click the view cart button, leave all the options by default and then click Confirm Order

Once you purchase the domain you like, remember that you are going to own it for a whole year which is enough time for your website to start earning a decent amount of money.

After you have bought your domain it’s time to host it somewhere.

But not just anywhere.

You have to be smart about it…

Step 2: Pick Fast Hosting For Your Blog

The next step of your money-making journey is to create your website. But in order to create your blog, you need to have a place to host it.

Let me explain what do I mean by that.

What is a hosting and why do you need it?

Your blog or website is going to be made from a lot of different files, images, videos, and code and in order for it to exist on the internet, you need to store all those files somewhere 24/7, 365 days of the year.

That’s why you are going to need a reliable hosting company. The main goal of these companies is to store all your files in order to make your website exist.

Which is the best hosting company for your blog?

We all know that there are hundreds of different hosting companies but my favorite one which I personally use is called Siteground

I use them for all my websites because they are cheap, fast and reliable. If you decide to go with them you won’t make a mistake.

Currently, their cheapest plan (which I use) is only $3.95 or a month or $47.4 per year.

This is in Euro because I live in Europe

In order to start with them click this link which is going to lead you to their official site.

Once there scroll down a little and click on the web hosting button to continue:

After that select the StartUp plan.

This plan is the one I’m currently using and it’s most than enough for most people.

Next, select the option that you already have a domain and type in the domain name you have previously purchased.

On the next page, enter all your details and select the 12 month period.

Finally agree with all their terms and click the pay now button.

Once that’s done you are almost complete.

After your payment is accepted create your account and follow this guide on how to connect the two things (your domain name to your hosting).

You have to this if you want your website to work properly.

Once that’s done you are almost ready with your website.

Continue with the next step…

Step 3: Install WordPress

Once your Siteground hosting account is successfully connected to your Namecheap domain name your next step is to install the website platform called WordPress.

This is the place where all your pages, posts, and media files will be structured in an easy to use way so your website looks nice and clean and you won’t need to know any coding to use it.

Don’t worry WordPress is 100% Free.

In order to install it, you need to go Siteground and login into your account

Once inside click the Go to Cpanel button

After that go to Auto Installers and select WordPress.

Next, follow the steps, create your WordPress login account and make sure your password is extremely strong.

Save your password on a safe location and wait for the whole installation process to finish.

Once that happens you are done.

Once WordPress is successfully installed go to yourdomainname.com/login and use your newly created credentials to log in to your website.

Once you are inside your URL should change to yourdomainname.com/wp-admin

Here’s how the WordPress dashboard looks like:

If you can see a similar design then congrats your website is live and working

To make sure everything works, open a new tab and enter your website’s domain name.

If everything loads correctly and you don’t see any errors you are ready to go.

If not copy the name of the error and search it on google to find a solution.

After you have installed WordPress your next goal should be to get yourself a nice theme.

Here’s the theme I use…

Step 4: Install A Nice Theme

Before I show you what theme I use let’s not forget something quite important.

Your website logo.

This is my logo

Even if it won’t make you rich it could certainly help your visitors recognize your brand and make you more trustworthy.

With the logo, you have 2 options.

You can either pay somebody on Fiverr to do it for you or you can make it yourself for free.

If you choose the Fiverr option simply go to Fiverr.com, type in website logo in the search bar and pick one of the offers that have high ratings.

If you have some image editing skills then you could use Canva and create your logo for free.

This is the exact same program I used to create my logo and many different cool photos on my website.

How canva works

After you have your logo it’s time to select a theme.

With a theme, you again have free and paid options.

If you have some budget available I highly recommend you go and buy the GeneratePress Premium theme

Example of how simple and clean this theme looks

If you want to see more examples and learn more click here to go to the official website.

This is the theme I personally use and it’s one of the fastest and lightest themes I know.

It does cost a one time $50 fee but in the long term, it’s totally worth it because Google loves fast and user-friendly websites and this theme offers exactly that.

If you want to check it out click here to go to the official website.

The free alternative you can do is to install the GeneratePress Free Theme

It’s a lot more limited than the premium version and offers only a fraction of all the important features you get but it’s still good enough to start with if you are on a very limited budget.

In order to install it login into your WordPress dashboard. Once there go to Appearance and then click Themes

Next click Add New.

After that type in “generatepress” in the search bar and install the theme.

After you’ve installed it watch this short video on how to customize it for your needs:

Once everything is set up and you have installed GeneratePress you have reached the most important step:

To choose what topics to write about.

Here’s the exact same strategy I use…

Step 5: Find Some Great Topics To Write About

Before you start to write articles it is really important that you are going to make sure people are going to read them.

And if you want to get readers people have to be able to somehow find them.

With this strategy, our main goal is to attract readers from Google search.

This is how it works:

Someone types how to train legs with a medicine ball in Google and your goal is to make your website show in the first few results with a nice article answering this question.

Then the reader clicks your link, goes to your website, reads your post and learns the answer, clicks some links or ads and you make money.

Sounds good, right?

Sadly it’s not that easy because you really need to know what you are doing but don’t worry I got you.

Let’s find out how to crack the code…

How to find out what topics are going to attract readers?

The easiest and best way to find interesting article ideas that are almost guaranteed to get read is to see what questions are people searching on Google and answer these questions with your articles.

Here’s a great example of how the whole process looks like.

Let’s say I’m really interested in writing about medicine balls because I have a few and I am constantly using them.

In order to find good topics about medicine balls to write about I’m going to simply type medicine balls in Google and click search.

Next, I will scroll down until I find the People also ask section.

Once there simply keep clicking the questions until you have a big chunk of questions (every time you click a question more will pop up beneath):

And here you have it.

Here are a bunch of questions you could potentially answer the best you can and are 100% sure people are searching.

But before you pick all of them please know that you should avoid very common basic questions or questions that are related to health or require professional knowledge.

For example, a good question to answer may be:

How heavy should my medicine ball be?

You are NOT required to be a doctor in order to answer this.

Here’s a bad question you should avoid:

  • Does Walmart sell medicine balls? (Who cares, we are not owning Walmart)
  • Do Russian twists give you abs? (Even if it isn’t 100% health-related I would still avoid it because there is some science behind it)

Now let’s see which are some good questions left for this specific search:

As you can see in only 2 minutes I’ve managed to find 17 potentially good questions to write blog posts about.

Now repeat everything I showed you and do the same exact thing and find 30 questions that you can answer and find somewhat interesting.

Write everything down in a notepad file and save it on your computer.

After your list of 30 questions is ready we have to do a quick google search for each question and see the competition.

If there is too much competition our article will never be seen by anyone.

Your goal is to see Google’s top 10 results for every phrase and make sure they do not answer the question directly.

If the question is already being answered you have 2 options

Write a longer and better post or simply skip it and go for the next.

Here are a couple of examples to make things easier to understand.

Let’s check the results of the first question:

What do you use medicine balls for?

Here are the results I got:

As you can see this question is already exactly answered by a Youtube video so I’ll just skip it.

Don’t worry if the majority of questions you search for are already answered. You will eventually find some great ones.

Just keep testing

For example, here’s a great question I’ve just found that hasn’t been answered well:

Is medicine ball good for abs?

Here are the results:

As you can even Google has chosen that snippet for the best answer but that doesn’t mean you can’t beat it.

As you can see from the title the chosen article isn’t directly focused on answering this question but it has somehow included it and that’s why you see this post in the first position.

And all the other posts and videos below it are focused on medicine balls workout which doesn’t answer the question.

I’m not looking for workouts, I’m looking for information that can help me understand if medicine balls are effective for my abs.

That means you have a chance of getting some traffic if you answer this question well.

But before you even choose this question make sure you can answer it. If you can’t and don’t want to learn the information you need simply skip it and move on to the next one.

Now repeat all those steps until you find at least 10 good questions you can answer.

After that’s done move on to the next step!

Step 6: How to write Nice Blog Posts That People Actually Read

If you have done everything in the previous 5 steps by now you are going to have a working website and 10 article ideas.

But everything is going to go in vain if you don’t do the hard work – to write down the 10 posts.

But your goal is not only to write them. You have to make them interesting and easy to read so people actually want to read them.

This article sucks!

The truth is than writing articles is not easy or fun.

But it’s possible…

To begin with, write down all your articles in Google docs

That way you are going to make sure that everything is always going to be saved to the last word in bad scenarios such as unexpected power outages, lost internet connection or other nasty problems.

But that was the easy part.

Don’t worry I will help you.

Here’s exactly how I write all my articles in a fast and efficient way

Step 1: Create your title

Firstly create an unnamed empty google docs document.

This is your starting point.

Next, you have to create the blog’s title.

Your goal should be to create an interesting eye-catching title that is going to make sure that people are going to click your post when they see it.

Not that’s what I call a good title

A good title is made from 2 parts:

The complete questions you are going to ask + Something interesting that is going to make people click it.

Here are a few examples:

  • How to Build More Muscle (This Technique Really Works)
  • Do You Need to Buy a Pull-Up Bar? I Wished I Knew This Before I Bought Mine
  • How Many Push-Ups Do You Need to Become A Marine? Answered By a Marine
  • etc.

After your title is ready, rename your google doc and continue to the second part.

Step 2: Create Your Draft

In order to make things easier for you, I’ll share one of my templates with you.

Use this template as a guide on how to structure your draft and article.

My Template

Few paragraphs – Tell your readers an actual short story that is interesting, funny and helps them learn something connected to your question and introduce yourself. Tell your readers what are they going to learn inside your article and what to expect.

Heading 1 – Your main question (Ex. How many Push-Ups You Need To Become A Marine)

Give a quick and short answer to the question.

Heading 2 – Something people have a massive problem with about this question (Ex. Why Most People Can’t Do Enough Push-Ups And Fail The Marines Test)

Explain 3 reasons why and help them understand how to avoid all those problems.

Heading 2 – Include some great things people can do in order to solve their problem or question they have searched for (Ex. Here Are The Top 3 Things You Can Do To Increase Your Push-Ups)

Tip 1 – Do blah-blah

Tip 2 – Buy Blah-blah

Tip 3 – Do this and this

Heading 2 – Conclusion

Recap everything you talked about in the article and suggest more of your similar articles.

And that’s really it.

Use the template above and create your draft in Google docs but remember to only enter the titles of each section.

This is how you draft should look like by the end of this step:

Step 3: Fill In The Blanks

After your draft is ready, fill in the blanks below each heading.

Make sure you are writing like you are writing to a close friend of yours

Include funny gifs, pictures, short stories, and fun facts.

After all, remember that real people are going to read your stuff and you don’t want it to be boring and ugly.

Use short sentences, split your text so there are not huge blocks of text and be friendly and cool.

After you have written your article, read it using your voice and fix all the mistakes and grammar as best as you can.

Quick Tip: If you want to make the whole process I highly recommend you to use Grammarly.

You can install the free extension to any browser but If you want to have perfect grammar I highly recommend you to buy Grammarly Premium.

I have used them both and there is a big difference when you switch to the paid version.

After your new post is mostly cleaned of grammar mistakes it’s time to add it inside your WordPress blog.

In order to do that enter your WordPress dashboard and click Posts -> Add New

Next, enter your post’s name in the heading space, paste your text, make it look pretty and click the publish button once you are ready.

And that’s really it. Now repeat the same thing 9 more times.

Important tip: Don’t expect money starting flowing only after 5 or 10 posts.

In my opinion, you should write at least 30 good posts if you want to have a good chance of earning some income.

So your main goal should be to write down 30 posts in the next 60 days.

But even with 500 posts, you won’t make a dime if you don’t know how to monetize your content.

Let me show you how most people do it…

Step 7: Different Ways To Make Money With Your Calisthenics Blog

The main source of income you can make is through affiliate marketing.

So in order to make money, you simply have to recommend some product you like and when somebody buys it because of your recommendation you get a commission.

For example, I have a ton of equipment I use daily and from time to time I do recommend something I genuinely like on my blog and that’s how I make some of my money.

There are many different affiliate programs you can join but the easiest is called Amazon Associates.

If you own Amazon products you like can get a small commission if you recommend them and somebody decides to buy them.

Example

The other very effective way to make money is through ads

You can use Good Adsense or any other similar program.

When you install Adsense on your website a lot of ads will start to show inside your content and every time somebody clicks them you are going to make a small amount of money.

I’m not a fan of purses but you get the point 🙂

The amount of money you make is determined by how many clicks your ads are going to get for every 1000 visitors that see them.

Of course, there are many different ways to monetize your content but these are my 2 favorite ways I personally use.

But remember that if you don’t have any visitors it doesn’t really matter how many ads or affiliate products you recommend.

That’s why your number one goal should be to write good content and publish it ASAP!

Which leaves us with the last 8th step.

Step 8: Rinse and repeat

This is the so-called “secret to success”:

Create more content!

The more articles you publish, the more readers you will attract and the more money you are going to make.

It’s all a numbers game.

The only thing it’s left for you is to take massive action today!

But before we finish I have a small bonus I want to show you…

Extra 2 Ways To Make Money With Calisthenics

Even if I’m not currently doing them that doesn’t mean they are not working.

If you have enough time you can try all 3 ways and see what’s working the best for you.

Let’s see how are the other 2 methods working.

1. Make a Youtube Channel

The first one is pretty obvious:

You make entertaining and educational videos, people start to watch them, subscribe to you and eventually you make money from the ads.

Dog watching his buddies on Youtube

In addition to that, you can also sell merch, do affiliate marketing and promote all sorts of brands, amazon products, and workout programs.

But again this is not easy.

If you want to grow a massive Youtube channel you will have to wait a lot of time but if you are consistent enough you could potentially earn thousands of dollars per month.

Here’s one of the biggest calisthenics youtube channels I’ve known:

Can you imagine how much effort, time and hard work took him to get there?

It’s insane.

2. Grow an Instagram Page

This is pretty much the same as Youtube but it’s going to take you far less work because you are going to upload mainly images.

But because of that, it is going to be harder to monetize.

Here’s a great Instagram profile based on calisthenics for inspiration:

With Instagram, you can make money by including an affiliate link in your bio or by selling shoutouts to different companies.

And of course, you sell your own products if you have some.

If that’s something you want to try, make sure that you have a nice camera and repeat what the competition is doing.

That way you are going to get more likes, comments, and followers.

But again it’s going to take a while before you earn a dime so be patient.

Conclusion

Now you know how to create your website, how to find good article ideas that will get you traffic, how to write good blog posts with the help of my template and how to monetize all of that content so you can make money with your calisthenics blog.

And most importantly you really know how you can make money with calisthenics.

The only thing left for you is to take massive action today!

Get yourself a nice domain name, invest in a good hosting, install WordPress and an awesome theme, find some article ideas and start writing down.

Recommended things you are going to need that I use:

Start creating value.

That’s how real money is made – by helping other people!

This is exactly how I managed to earn money online and so can you.

Thank you very much for reading this in-depth guide of mine.

If you liked it and want to learn more awesome stuff about calisthenics take a look at my other great posts teaching you all sort of useful stuff:

And again nothing is impossible unless you try.

Keep hustling and sooner or later you will eventually make money.

And finally, don’t forget to type in any question you may have in the comment section below.

I’ll try my best to help you.

And like always: May the bars be with you,
