I really prefer this product over the rest because it tastes great, mixes well with water and milk and gives a nice energy boost while giving you all the essential recovery ingredients such as BCAAs, creatine, and L-glutamine.

It also has a good price (per dose), nice quantity (30 servings that last me for a month) and good ingredients without containing sugar and artificial additives.

It’s simple, well made and does what it say. That’s why I highly recommend you check it out to see for yourself.

Top 5 Best Recovery Drinks for P90X You Should Try

That means they use only natural and useful ingredients, no artificial additives, tons of happy customers, good taste and mixing abilities and most importantly – affordable prices.

Here’s what I’m talking about…

1. VINTAGE BUILD Post-Workout Recovery Drink (BCAA, Creatine, L-Glutamine) – Best Post-Workout Recovery Drink for P90X / P90X3

The most effective recovery drink I ever tried
The most effective recovery drink I ever tried

Click Here to check Vintage Build’s latest price on Amazon

Information about the post-workout

  • Total Servings: 30
  • Calories (serving): 0 calories
  • BCAAs: 5 g.
  • Creatine: 3 g.
  • L-glutamine: 2 g.
  • L-carnitine: 0 g.
  • Sugar: 0 g.

From all the different post-workout drinks I’ve tried this one is my favorite.

As you can see from the information above Vintage Build does contain a pretty decent amount of recovery essentials and that’s one of the main reasons why I’ve chosen it to be the best recovery drink for P90X I recommend

For a pretty decent price, you are getting 30 doses and if you the math you are going to see that you are getting quite a nice deal per serving. (Total price / number of doses = price per dose)

Speaking of servings it’s good to know that you are getting 5 grams of BCAAs, 3 grams of creatine and 2 grams of l-glutamine per portion

That’s a pretty nice amount making this supplement very effective for recovery.

I’ve used it for a while and it does give energy and help with muscle soreness. I do feel fresh and well recovered for my next workout so in my opinion, it works pretty well.

Another great benefit that made me decide to buy it is the fact that Vintage Build doesn’t use any sugar and instead contains the natural replacement of sugar called stevia.

And that is the main reason why you are getting 0 grams of sugar per serving but still the taste is really good.

Speaking of taste it’s nice to know that the whole mix comes in 2 flavors to choose from – Fresh Berries and Lemon Lime.

Don’t worry because both flavors come from natural sources. (My favorite flavor is the Fresh Berries so give them a try if you want)

In addition to the good taste, I also like to let you know that this supplement mixes very well with both water and milk.

I personally like to drink with milk and there aren’t any chunks you have to chew.

But the best part are the ingredients.

I don’t know about you but I really care about what I put in my body and with this post-workout you can rest assure that you are safe because all the included ingredients are natural and harmless.

Their product doesn’t contain the usual GMO, fillers, artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors.

I believe the main reason behind this is the fact that the product is made in the USA and it’s certified by the FDA & GMP. (which isn’t easy to do)

It’s also additionally third party tested for more quality.

Additional things that you may like are that this recovery drink can be used by vegetarians and people following the keto diet as well.

Quick Summary:

I personally always go for products that are proven to be good by the majority of people and that’s the main case with Vintage Build.

It tastes great, uses plenty of helpful and harmless ingredients and does really have a positive effect on post-workout recovery.

I’ve used it for a while now and from personal experience I can tell that this drink is a great option for people wanting to recover effectively after heavy P90X workouts.

Go and check it out. It’s definitely worth it!

2. Legion Recharge Post-Workout Recovery Drink with Creatine – Best Natural Recovery Drink for P90X

Another very good post-workout drink I have tried

Click Here to check Legion Recharge’s latest price on Amazon

Information about the post-workout

  • Total Servings: 60
  • Calories (serving): 0 calories
  • BCAAs: 0 g.
  • Creatine: 5 g.
  • L-glutamine: 0 g.
  • L-carnitine: 2.1 g.
  • Sugar: 0 g.

I really like this recovery drink because it comes in 60 servings (double the first supplement) and a very good price making it quite an affordable option in the long term.

Compared to some other overpriced similar products I have seen I might say that this is one of the most affordable options you can get.

What I like about this product is the fact that it comes in 3 different flavors and a separate unflavored option for people looking for something to combine with other foods or supplements.

I bought a flavored one (the one with the watermelon) and it tasted really good.

In addition to that, there weren’t any problems with mixing (I’ve tried with many different liquids and even some foods).

The combination of creatine, l-carnitine and corosolic acid you can find inside does really help with fast recovery, muscle soreness, and low energy levels.

I did recover quicker after I’ve used it and there was a nice boost in energy too.

But the best part is the fact that these ingredients are also great for people who want to build muscle and strength. [1]

And to be honest you are getting quite a decent amount per serving – 5 grams of creatine, 2.1 grams of l-carnitine and 10.5 milligrams of corosolic acid.

The good news is that these 3 ingredients are the bulk of the content meaning there aren’t any additional fillers, artificial sweeteners, colors or flavors at your disposal.

This product is also safe to use and doesn’t use any banned substances or GMO, etc.

Those few things are the reason why I believe this to be the best natural post-workout drink for P90X.

Another great little addition I like about Legion Recharge is the fact that is also suitable for vegetarians and vegans because it doesn’t use any animal or dairy ingredients.

Finally, I want to mention that their product is made in the safety of the USA following strict CGMP and NSF certificates so you can sleep comfortably.

And the extra 90-day return policy is also really nice.

Quick Summary:

If you are looking for more portions and something that is 100% safe you should really check the Legion Recharge.

I really like this drink because it uses many great beneficial ingredients and it does do its job while tasting good and being rather inexpensive.

That’s why I believe this is something worth checking.

3. Growth Surge Post-Workout Recovery Supplement – Best Price Per Dose (Best Value)

Really affordable drink you should definitely try

Click Here to check Growth Surge’s latest price on Amazon

Information about the post-workout

  • Total Servings: 30
  • Calories (serving): 0 calories
  • BCAAs: 0 g.
  • Creatine: 3 g.
  • L-glutamine: 0 g.
  • L-carnitine: 2 g.
  • Sugar: 0 g.

The third product from this list that I have used is not made from such a big brand as Legion but it certainly does deserve a place into this list because it’s tasty, works well and it’s made from good ingredients

With the serving size of 30, Growth Surge offers less than Legion Recharge but even so the price per serving is still really good

It is delicious and works fine with milk and some good protein powder.

When it comes to mixing it with other liquids, supplements or foods you shouldn’t have any issues. I’ve mixed it many times and there weren’t any chunks or big lumps you have to crush with a spoon.

It gives nice results and it’s worth a shot.

The main ingredients inside Growth Surge are creatine, betaine, l-carnitine, and bioperine.

In short, they help reduce muscle fatigue [2], improve the overall recovery of your body [3] and have a positive effect on muscle growth and strength. [4]

Here’s how much “good stuff” you get in a serving: 3 g of creatine, 2.5 g of betaine, 2 g l-carnitine and 5 mg Bioperine.

But one of the biggest reasons why I’ve bought this product in the first place is its purity.

I’m really happy with Jacked Factory (the brand behind this product) and think they have done an excellent job because Growth Surge is a nice and delirious recovery drink that is mostly free of artificial fillers, colors, flavors, and harmful additives.

The only ingredient I don’t like about its content is the artificial sweetener they use.

But even with this let’s not forget the fact that this drink doesn’t contain any soy, caffeine, sugar and it’s vegan-friendly.

Additionally, it’s good to know that this supplement is third-party tested and manufactured in the USA following strict cGMP standards.

Lastly I want to mention that I’ve had good experience with Jacked Factory’s customer service and they actually respond!

And the return policy is also good.

Quick Summary:

Even if it’s not perfect I still believe that Growth Surge’s post-workout drink is worth the shot.

It contains 4 vital ingredients for good recovery, it has a reasonable price, and overall nice quality and taste.

Everything is also backed up by a lot of great reviews.

4. Organic Replenisher Electrolyte Powder – Best Post-Workout Vegan Recovery Drink

Click Here to check Organic Replenisher’s latest price on Amazon

Information about the post-workout

  • Total Servings: 20
  • Calories (serving): 30 calories
  • Ingredients: 11 Plant-Based Organic Ingredients including: Goji Berry, Tumeric, Ginger Root, Maca Root, Maitake Mushroom, Spirulina, & Chlorella.
  • Sugar: 2 g.

With the fourth option from my list, I want to show something unique and quite different from the rest I have used

Even if this drink is “unique” it isn’t bad!

Not at all…

Instead, I believe this to be a really nice post-workout recovery drink you should try.

What I find very interesting is how Organic Muscle (the company) uses a nice mixture of only ingredients found in nature.

Yes, everything you can find in the powder is 100% natural.

We are talking about a pure natural product made only from healthy plants.

In more specifics, there are 11 plants.

Some of the main plants included in this drink are Goji Berry, Tumeric, Ginger Root, Maca Root, etc.

The mixture does also contain electrolytes, coconut water, lemon, himalayan salt and many other vitamins and minerals which help with hydration and recovery.

In other words you use the power of mother nature to improve your health and post-workout recovery.

Sadly you are getting only 20 servings per package which is smaller than the usual 30, 50 or even 60 servings you are getting from similar products …

But does this mean you should skip it because it’s overpriced?

Absolutely not!

Even if the price is little higher per dose compared to other brands this drink is still 99.9% better than a lot of the junk you can find on the internet which has god knows what inside…

That’s why I believe (and named this) to be the ideal option for vegetarians, vegans or just people looking to try something different and healthy.

Another great benefit you are going to get is the amazing purity.

Say bye-bye to bad things such as sugars, gluten, soy, dairy, artificial sweeteners, flavors, colors or preservatives.

In my opinion, this drink is worth every penny.

It comes in only one taste (watermelon) which is really good, mixes well and does really have a positive effect on recovery, energy, and strength.

I’ve used it for 2 months for a test and it worked as good as all the other ones I’ve tried.

Finally, let’s wrap things by sharing with you that you are also get good return policy and customer service if you have any problems.

Quick Summary:

If you are looking for something different and unique that is 100% organic and made entirely out of plants then you should try the Organic Replenisher.

It’s a great and delicious drink after a heavy P90X workout and really helps.

It’s also ideal for people looking for a 100% plant-based mixture in their diet.

5. BSN CELLMASS 2.0 Post-Workout Recovery Drink – Best Recovery Drink for Sensitive Stomach

Click Here to check BSN Cellmass’s latest price on Amazon

Information about the post-workout

  • Total Servings: 25
  • Calories (serving): 25 calories
  • BCAAs: 10 g.
  • Creatine: 5 g.
  • L-glutamine: 3 g.
  • L-carnitine: 0 g.
  • Sugar: 1 g.

The last recovery drink from this list made I want to show you has one of the best prices per serving you are going to get compared to most other similar products.

The reason behind this is the fact that you are getting 25 servings for a fair price.

With this drink you can choose one of 3 flavors – Arctic Berry, Blue Raz or Watermelon (I myself love the Watermelon taste).

From what I’ve heard the other 2 flavors taste also good so whatever one you choose you won’t be wrong.

The drink is delicious and its mixing properties handle water and milk very well. I’ve tried many different combinations using this powder and there weren’t any problems.

What I find unique about this product is the fact that it does contain additional protein.

So far I haven’t seen any other product offering such thing and I believe they are missing a lot because getting enough protein is an essential part of a good recovery process. [5]

Inside a scoop of BSN Cellmass you are going to find 3 gr glutamine, 5 gr creatine, 4 grams of protein and 10 grams of BCAAs.

With the help of those 4 great ingredients, you are going to recover faster, get more energy, endurance, strength, and muscle.

As a person who have tried it for a couple of months I can verify that. If you don’t believe me click the link above or below and see for yourself.

More great benefits about this post-workout drink are the fact that it’s maned in the USA following a NSF certificate, its lactose and caffeine-free and it can be used by vegans.

The ingredients are good and there aren’t any unwanted fillers, artificial additives, and other bad stuff you probably don’t want to hear…

Finally, I want to mention that this post-workout recovery drink does come with a spoon for easy serving measuring.

I don’t know how useful you find this to be but for me, this is a must in a powder product.

I find it really annoying when there isn’t any included spoon and I have to search for a replacement…

Quick Summary:

With the extra source of protein and nice ingredients, BSN Cellmass has won a position in my top 5 list.

Even without the extra protein I still believe this is a great product to use.

It has a very good price per serving and brings a lot of recovery benefits for every dose you take.

Many people including me are happy with it and overall it’s something worth checking.

6 Important Features to Look for When Buying the Best Recovery Drink for P90X or P90X3

I know that many of you don’t have the time or don’t want to simply read this part because they believe it’s not really important but it actually is.

Even if all 5 products above have passed all those feature requirements it’s always a good thing to understand and know them for more feature purchases.

If you are going to eat or drink something it’s always important to know what’s inside!

So let’s find out…

1. What are the ingredients?

Whatever type of supplement you are buying following this simple rule will guarantee almost every time high quality:

The smaller the number of ingredients the better!

Before you open your wallet make sure the chosen product has at least 3 of these really important recovery components.

  • Creatine – boosts energy and helps with endurance and strength.
  • BCAAs – helps building muscle, recovery, and energy.
  • Betaine – improves cell hydration.
  • L-carnitine – helps with recovery, weight loss, brain functions, and energy.
  • Electrolytes – essential for strength and vital body functions. Does also helps with soreness and muscle damage.
  • Nitric oxide – helps with the delivery of nutrients to the muscles.
  • Glutamine – good for recovery from a strength type of training.
  • Some sort of protein source – is essential for good recovery but few products do.
  • Additional vitamins and minerals

Quick Tip:

If you come across an ingredient you don’t recognize do a quick google search and find out whether it will benefit you or not. Depending on what you find decide if the product is worth or not.

Now after you have a clue what are the main beneficial ingredients you should be looking for taking notice of how many are there included and what quantity of them are getting per serving of the product.

If you are looking for specific components make sure you go for a product that has everything you want.

I know that many of you are simply looking for a good product that does the job right so my recommendation is to go for a product containing the biggest amount of different beneficial ingredients.

That way you are increasing the chances of the positive results you might get.

If you already take other individual supplements such as protein powder, BCAAs, creatine, etc. take into consideration how are they going to add up with the additional recovery drink.

Try to provide your body with different components giving your body benefits in separate areas. That’s how you get the most out of your p90x workouts.

Please Note:

If you have common allergies and food intolerance towards certain ingredients make sure to read the label and see if any of them are inside.

If you follow a specific diet or a way of life make sure the product is matching your lifestyle. If you are following such a way of living don’t worry.

The 4th product from our list above is the ideal candidate for vegetarians and vegans. Some of the products are also a keto diet-friendly.

2. How good is the taste?

One of the most important features is the actual taste.

Because you are going to drink it almost every day you want 2 things:

  • The taste to be good
  • To come from natural sources

I know that different people may respond differently to a single taste but if the majority of people say it’s good that most likely the case.

So if you don’t want to play by chance go for a taste that is already proven to be good.

Whatever flavor you choose for your recovery drink make sure it uses only natural sweeteners such as stevia.

As you have seen from the product list above there are brands that do offer a flavorless option. Depending on your situation this might be a good thing and here’s why.

Let’s do a quick review of both possible scenarios and see which one suits your needs the best.

Scenario 1 – With a taste

If you are going to drink it alone by itself make sure it tastes good. You can do this by choosing a flavor you like or by asking somebody you know who has already consumed it.

Another option to find out which taste is good is by reading some reviews online.

Scenario 2 – Without a taste

If you decide to combine it with other supplements or foods which do have a stronger flavor then you won’t have to worry about taste. In that case, you can go for the flavorless option.

I believe that the flavorless taste no matter the supplement is the best option because there is a lot lower chance of you consuming some unhealthy artificial additives.

You can’t really 10 trust what the company is publicly saying about the content.

3. Who is behind the recovery drink?

For me, this is something you shouldn’t neglect.

The main reason behind this claim is because you are searching for a product you are literally going to consume and digest in your body.

So before you flash out your hard-earned cash make sure you are getting a quality product made from a reputable company.

So how can you know if you can trust your health to a certain brand?

The simplest and fastest way you can achieve this is to answer a few of those questions:

  • Do I know this brand and what previous experience have I had with them?
  • Are they a company that people respect?
  • Where and with what regulations are their products created?
  • Do their products have some sort of quality certificate?
  • What other similar products are they selling?
  • How long are they into the business?
  • What are people talking about them?
  • and much more…

You can find the majority of this useful information on the product page itself or by some simple google searches.

Trust me, it won’t hurt if you take 1-2 minutes and do a quick internet search to find out some of the answers to these questions.

Depending on what you find you will have a real overview if a certain product is worth it.

4. What is the purity level?

So if you want your purchase to be something to brag about you want to own a product with a high percentage of purity.

But how can you find out if a product is pure or not?

The simplest way you can have a decent clue is to see how many and what other ingredients does a certain recovery drink contains except for the basic ingredients.

You can easily find out that information on the product label (or the picture of it on the product page).

You want to have a simple and efficient product that has low to none excess additives.

By “additives” we are talking about things such as:

  • Fillers
  • Stabilizers
  • Binders
  • Excess amount of sugars
  • Artificial colors, flavors, and sweeteners
  • Dangerous or banned ingredients.

For your own safety and well being stay away from products containing such things!

5. How Good Are The Mixing Abilities

Yeah, I know that this little feature might sound obscure to some of you but it is a somewhat important factor for all powder-like products.

In order to find out how good are the mixing abilities of a certain product you like try reading some of what previous customers share about this feature.

I highly recommend you not to skip this information because from my own personal experience I can confirm that there are a lot of powders that just don’t mix very well with water, milk or juice.

That’s bad because it’s leaving you with nasty lumps of powder which stick all over your mouth after you try to chew them.

Another useful thing you can do is to find information about how specific recovery supplements react to hot or cold beverages because there can be some mixing issues with different temperatures.

6. Are you getting quality for the price?

When comparing different products and their prices to one another you should do it using the simple price per dose.

You can find out the correct price per serving by doing this simple math:

Combine the price of the product + shipping and divide the sum to the total number of doses you are getting.

Use the resulting number to compare different products and go for the quality you feel comfortable with.

If you are on a tight budget I would recommend going for the largest quantity for the least price (with still good quality on hand).

Finally, check out the total number of ingredients helping with recovery and aim to get as much of them as possible for the lowest price.

That way you are somewhat guaranteed to get the best recovery drink for p90x for your needs and budget.

4 Great Benefits You are Getting from Drinking a Recovery Drink

If you are still not really convinced that this is a good investment to make here are 4 very good reasons why you should drink a recovery drink after a heavy P90X workout.

Don’t worry – all of them are backed by science.

1 – Adds Convenience for Proper Recovery

Because of the powder form and way of using this is the quickest and most efficient way to provide your body with all the necessary nutrients it needs right after a hardcore p90x workout.

It’s actually a lot faster and easier than preparing a meal or a shake using foods and to be honest, not everybody has the available time or desire to do such things on a regular basis after every workout.

With the help of only 1 scoop of powder and some water or milk, you can easily create a delicious and healthy recovery drink just in a few seconds anywhere you go.

It can withstand sun and heat way better than many of the traditional foods making it the more convenient option to carry with you around.

2 – Helps with the Recovery Process

Recovery post-meal drinks are created with only one purpose in mind – to supply your body with all previously depleted nutrients as fast as possible so you can have a nice and efficient recovery.

Compared to traditional foods powder is easier and faster digested making it a great option for people looking for a fast and easy way to recover.

Most brands do contain ingredients such as glutamine, taurine, l-carnitine, BCAAs, and other similar ones that are proven to speed up the recovery process.

The Department of Surgical Science has proven that consumption of BCAAs has positive effects on protein synthesis and muscle growth in one of their studies back in 2006.

Another department in Japan has found that amino acids (BCAAs) are also very helpful with muscle soreness in a 2010 study they have done.

Other studies show how taurine and glutamine play an important role in recovery so you are fresh and ready for your next workout as soon as possible.

So now you see how taking a post-workout recovery supplement can have a positive effect and help you get better results.

Let’s continue down for even more great info.

3 – Help You Build More Muscle & Strength

It is very well known that muscles are not built during the workout but after that.

They are developed in strength and size during the recovery process.

That’s why this is one of the biggest benefits you are going to get from the usage of a good post-workout drink.

It will help speed up the whole process a bit making every workout more enjoyable because of the good results you are going to see.

Try to go for companies that do include BCAAs into the mix because it is proven that amino acids have one of the biggest impacts on muscle growth in a combination with proper weight training.

4 – No more sore muscles after workouts

Almost every time you decide to change the workout, increase the intensity, shorten the rest time or try something new and exciting you are going to face with the old and unpleasant muscle soreness.

If you care about soreness go for a recovery drink that includes BCAAs because another study shows how taking this supplement can help improve soreness by 33%.

So no more sore and hard to move muscles!

If you are somebody who suffers a lot from muscle soreness because of almost every workout you do you are going to love the effects of a post-recovery drink.

It will feel like magic – trust me!
